Emotional Eating - Our Emotional Dependency on Foods
Fad diets with all their great intentions and methods to motivate us to eat healthier don't address behavioral or emotional issues when it comes to eating. Emotions and moods are very powerful and can induce us in an emotional-eating cycle without some of us even becoming aware of it. Emotional eating is a response due to an incident, situation or feeling that is usually unpleasant or stressful. This usually causes a shift in your hormones or mood sending strong signals to seek out comfort foods. Our drive to emotional eating is linked to the demands and pressures we feel throughout the day.
