Which diet gimmicks, gadgets and fads caught your attention this year? There were certainly plenty to choose from. These were my favorite funny, interesting, eye-catching and eye-rolling moments.
- Prancercize. We all giggled when Joanna Rohrback's horse dancing YouTube video went viral, but the Prancercise lady is laughing all the way to the bank. Her quirky workout has caught the nation's attention. And why not? If prancing like a horse gets you moving, then I'm all for it.
- Twerkouts. Twerking for weight loss was funny - at first. Then dozens of workout gurus turned Miley Cyrus' booty popping antics into a bona fide exercise craze. Can it work? Yep! Shaking your booty burns calories and has other benefits as well.
- BK Satisfries. I was first in line at a local Burger King to try the fast food giant's version of lower calorie french fries. Did I recommend them? Well, not exactly. They didn't taste bad, but I wouldn't necessarily include them as part of a low calorie fast food meal.
- "Secret" Diets. Did you notice an onslaught of Facebook ads about Jennifer Aniston's secret diet? This campaign was an eye-rolling moment for me. Why would anyone keep a diet secret?
- Calorie-burning Hotwear. I reviewed a new trend in fitness apparel this year. Zaggora Hotwear helps you burn more calories with exercise, according to their claims. Technically the claim is accurate, but I still wasn't too impressed with the product.
- Bust-saving Diet. In 2013, several tabloid magazines claimed that Katy Perry's special diet helps her slim down and keep her top half in tact. So of course, I couldn't resist looking into it. Is it really possible to whittle your waist and preserve your boobs? I got an expert answer.
